La canción no ha dejado indiferente a nadie y en Internet hay muchas voces indicando que Born This Way no es más que una mezcla entre las canciones de Madonna Express Yourself y Vogue. Sin embargo, la propia Lady Gaga ha confesado que se inspiró en las mencionadas canciones para componer su último gran éxito. En nuestra opinión, aunque la diva del pop y del dance no deja indiferente a nadie, las acusaciones de plagio son infundadas puesto que una cosa es copiar y otra inspirarse en algo.
El caso es que la canción Born This Way ha servido para que Lady Gaga se haya convertido en la primera cantante en superar el record de vender 20 millones de singles digitales, algo que ha conseguido gracias a la expectación creada en torno a su última canción, expectación que supuso un impensable número de descargas de la misma en los días posteriores a su lanzamiento, y a la descargas anteriores de sus grandes éxitos Just Dance, Poker Face o Paparazzi.
La canción Born This Way ha sido compuesta por Lady Gaga, Fernando Garibay y DJ White Shadow. Fernando Garibay, responsable de la producción, también fue productor de otros éxitos de la diva como Dancer In The Dark o Paparazzi, y también es conocido por trabajar junto a cantantes como Ricky Martin o Enrique Iglesias.
